Help your sponsoring company design the best lunar settlement to earn the distinction of LUNA Capital in this engaging board game by José Ramón Palacios. Optimize your projects, build efficiently, and compete for the title of lunar mayor in 1977.
Welcome to the Moon!
It's the late 1970s, and life beyond Earth is no longer a matter of science fiction. Help your sponsoring company and design the best settlement so your lunar city can earn the distinction of LUNA Capital. The dream of sustaining human life on the moon is now a reality. The project of building cities on the Earth's satellite is moving at full speed, because the possibilities are enormous, and 1977 is the year when this will become a reality.
The most enterprising companies have jumped at the chance to sponsor teams of scientists, builders, advertisers, and nightlife professionals to create the best customer base in the galaxy. Additionally, the newly formed Lunar Regulatory Organization will award the capital status of the satellite to the best project submitted, making the reward doubly enticing!
LUNA Capital is a board game designed by José Ramón Palacios (creator of La Viña). With his second title, Palacios offers a highly engaging experience for both seasoned gamers and those new to the world of modern board games. The artistic aspect of the game is once again handled by Albert Monteys (Castellers, Dungeon Raiders). Monteys, aside from being an avid gamer, is an internationally renowned comic book artist. Those who enjoy his work in this game should not miss his comic Universo (Astiberri), where they will find inevitable points of connection.
In LUNA Capital, players must optimize the elements provided by the game to build the best possible lunar settlement, worthy of becoming the capital of the entire colony. They will have a series of construction plan cards in a common "market," each linked to a number of project tiles. On their turn, players will take one of the cards and the accompanying tiles and place them in their personal play area. The cards must be placed in a maximum of three rows and always in ascending numerical order.
Once the card is placed, the tiles are put in the spaces provided on the cards, attempting to group the projects as efficiently as possible. The tiles display the available projects, essential for building a proper city, such as oxygen collectors, greenhouses, residential complexes, and (very importantly) sales offices to sell apartments with the best views in the galaxy. Each of these categories will score based on how they are arranged in each player's personal area, and whoever makes the most of it will become the mayor of LUNA Capital.
Prepare your plans and compete to be the best lunar builder!
