You’ve reached a new quadrant of the galaxy and are competing for a seat on the Galactic Council. To achieve your goal, you’ll need to follow orders, establish trade relations, expand your ship, and found colonies. But beware of pirates! Designed by Klaus and Benjamin Teuber, with illustrations by Franz Vohwinkel, this game is an exclusive two-player experience for ages 12 and up, with a typical playtime of 75 minutes. This edition is completely independent of Catan: Starfarers, though it shares the same setting and mechanics with its predecessor.

The objective is to be the first to reach 10 points. As is common in Catan-themed games, each turn starts with a production phase, where players roll an orange die to receive resources based on the number of their colonies or production centers. Then, the exploration phase allows players to choose one of four sectors to travel to, each represented by a stack of cards. Players can perform actions based on the revealed sector cards, such as buying or selling materials, founding colonies, or building trade stations. However, beware—pirates might appear, and you’ll have to either bribe them or fight them off.

In the final phase, trade and construction, you can exchange resources or expand your starship. Players who prefer to skip reading the rulebook can learn through 5 introductory missions that gradually introduce the game mechanics. If you’re already familiar with the Catan universe, dive straight into the full adventure.
