Beacon Patrol

In Beacon Patrol, you step into the boots of a Coast Guard captain tasked with ensuring the safety of the North Sea coastline. Collaborate with fellow captains to monitor the sea and inspect critical infrastructure such as lighthouses and buoys. Act swiftly, as time is of the essence, and you must cover as much sea area as possible. Move your ship, place tiles, and work with your fellow captains to earn the highest honors and the admiration of all the coastal inhabitants.

Designed and illustrated by Torben Ratzlaff, Beacon Patrol can be enjoyed solo or in groups of up to 4 players, ages 8 and up, in sessions that last about 30 minutes. Using tile-placement mechanics and a modular board, you will work together to patrol the vast coastline and inspect lighthouses and buoys. At the end of the game, points are scored based on the tiles you’ve explored. Ready to patrol the coast?

Learning how to play Beacon Patrol is simple, and turns flow quickly once you grasp the rules. On each turn, you place tiles in the center of the table, adjacent to the tile where your ship is located. Each time you expand the central map, you’ll move across the new tiles, either via a normal move or by using propulsion, spending one of your three available tokens. Another action you can take is exchanging tiles with other players to optimize the best combinations for scoring more points.

And that's not all! Once you're familiar with the basic game, you can incorporate one or both of the mini-expansions included in the box. Each expansion adds new tiles that provide fresh scoring opportunities at the end of the game. One expansion introduces wind turbines, awarding points for open-sea tiles adjacent to them, while the other introduces piers, granting additional points for each building on the connected land areas.
