Welcome to the restaurant, diners! Take a seat around this magnificent rotating table and get ready to taste the best bites from Eastern cuisine. Sushi Go! Spin and Eat Dim Sum is a fully standalone game in the Sushi Go universe, sharing its aesthetic and some mechanics with the classic card game. You don't need to have, know, or even have played the original game to enjoy this one. Designed by Quentin Weir and Ken Gruhl and illustrated by Nan Rangsima, it can be played in pairs or groups of up to 6 players, starting at age 8, with each game lasting around 20 minutes. Inspired by Phil Walker-Harding’s classic, this game gives a whole new spin to Sushi Go! Instead of playing with sushi cards, you'll be working with delicious dim sum. The goal is to collect the best combination of dim sum dishes, each scoring differently. After twelve rounds, the player with the most points wins.
In addition to more than 100 dim sum cards, this edition includes a rotating table with 6 baskets, 30 chopstick tokens, a real-size soft bun, and 6 menus (acting as personal boards). Once set up, the game looks stunning, creating the illusion that players are dining in a restaurant. You'd better not sit down hungry! On each turn, a player picks the top card from the basket in front of them, along with any chopstick tokens inside. Then, they place the card on an open space on their menu. If the player prefers a card from another basket, they can rotate the table in any direction, but must place a chopstick token on every basket they pass. However, if you have the special bun, you can return it to the center of the table and rotate it as much as you like without any cost. Once everyone’s menu is full (or after 12 rounds), the game ends. As in Sushi Go!, players score points for the combinations on their cards. For example, every set of four shaomai gives 12 points (but fewer than 4 gives none), and steamed buns score only for the player with the most, while subtracting points from the one with the fewest. Beautiful and fun, Sushi Go! Spin and Eat Dim Sum is perfect for playing with friends or family, especially with the little ones. Combining cards is quite the challenge with a constantly rotating table: you never know which basket will be in front of you when it’s your turn! Let yourself be tempted by these Chinese culinary delights and prepare the tastiest menu in the restaurant.
