Once well-equipped, you'll travel across the Mediterranean to excavate the finest sites in search of valuable finds that will bring you fame and prestige. If you can also organize exhibitions and attend conferences, your reputation will soar. But all this requires time, and time is, of course, a limited resource. Those who best manage their time to plan excavations and exhibitions will earn the most victory points and, of course, win the game. Time is money! Created by Peter Prinz, Tebas allows 2 players or groups of up to 4 players, aged 8 and up, with a duration of about 60 minutes. With a core set collection mechanic, players aim to earn the most victory points by excavating archaeological sites around the world and collecting valuable artifacts. The primary resource in Tebas is time, which is spent traveling across the central board and performing actions. At the start of the game, players will travel through Europe to acquire knowledge cards about various sites, equipment items, or advantages, accumulating them in their play area. Then, they will travel to one of the five sites on the map, and based on their accumulated knowledge, they will have a better chance of succeeding in their excavation. Each site has a bag with tokens inside, and players will draw as many tokens as indicated by the chronodisc. These tokens may contain findings of varying value, academic items that benefit all players, or rubble. As the game progresses, players may also offer exhibitions if they have discoveries matching the requirements of exhibition cards. When all players have run out of time (represented by weeks on the game board), the game ends, and the player with the most points wins.
